Nine Inch Nails Guitarist Talks New Album

kissrocks.com - 9-30-03

Nine Inch Nails guitarist Danny Lohner is currently attracting attention for putting together the soundtrack to the hit horror flick, Underworld, which features songs from A Perfect Circle, Trust Company, Finch, and David Bowie, among others. When asked about the next Nine Inch Nails record, Lohner told us that founder Trent Reznor is well into the recording process. "He is so far along, and I've been gone, so I'm actually gonna miss most of the album. But he's almost done -- I don't know if I'd say he's almost done with it, because I haven't actually been down there recently, but I know it's moving along very well and it'll be on its way soon."

Lohner is also part of a new act called the Damning Well, who appear on the Underworld soundtrack. The band consists of Lohner, ex-Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, Filter frontman Richard Patrick, and A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese.

Danny Lohner and Maynard James Keenan of Tool have also formed a new project called Puscifer, which made its debut on the Underworld soundtrack with a track called "REV 22:20."

Underworld will return to the big screen. The vampire-fights-werewolf tale has been given the greenlight for two related projects, which are likely to be one sequel, followed by a prequel. The movie, starring Kate Beckinsale, topped the box office during its first week of release, virtually assuring at least one more installment.
